Role Summary
We are looking for a Programme Manager on a 12 month fixed term basis. The role will look to engage high-calibre individual(s) embedded within our public sector teams, working on our largest and most complex programmes, to support with key elements of programme planning and management. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with Partners, Directors and Business Managers leading our Public Sector Cluster, contribute to strategic priorities, and supplement our consulting teams, where needed, with high-quality programme management resource. This role could be delivered largely remotely, but with expectation of occasional need to be on-site for key client meetings or internal sessions (approx. once per month).
Key responsibilities:
- Supporting the development of high-quality, critical milestone programme plans as part of the planning and setup phases of work (particularly implementation phases in our larger and more complex engagements)
- Working with programme and workstream leaders to ensure a consistent approach and granularity of plans across the spans and layers of the programme
- Supporting programme leadership teams to keep plans up-to-date as live documents, which are being used as part of regular internal governance reviews (weekly team meetings, extended project reviews etc)
- Maintenance of other key PMO documents and resources, e.g. resource plans, stakeholder trackers, risk logs, data sharing agreements.
- Flagging risks and issues to programme timelines or resources to programme leadership teams
- Interfacing with client PMO functions to ensure client governance forums are being provided with the right quality and format of programme management information
- Supporting internal reviews / knowledge capture and lessons learned on programme delivery
- On-the-job informal training and support to programme leadership teams around programme planning best practice
Required Profile:
- A consistent track record of high-quality programme management support, including development and ownership of:
- Programme plans
- Stakeholder trackers
- Risk logs
- Client-facing programme update materials
- Communication and engagement plans
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, in both internal and client-facing contexts - up to and including Director level stakeholders
- Excellent attention to detail
- Experience and understanding of a professional services environment would be advantageous
