Resource Managers are a major role in Newton. Having the highest performing scheduling function is critical to our success. Scheduling operates at the very heart of the company and needs to bring together our deep knowledge of our clients and propositions, individual consultants, our culture and values, our financial and business aims, and our commercial model, and then apply that wide knowledge in the optimal way to build high performing teams to deliver meaningful impact through our multi-million-pound programmes. It is the lynchpin that enables Newton to generate its revenue and profit, enables our people to thrive and grow, and ultimately to exceed all our clients’ expectations.

Whilst recognising that the Partner who has sold the work may have the best understanding of the project, client and skills required – we take overall responsibility for selecting the right teams, matching the immediate client need with other projects and longer-term broader business impacts such as client development, knowledge sharing and team diversity.
We also work adjacently and very closely with another team who support the consulting delivery teams in how our work is delivered, assured and experienced by our clients - ensuring the high quality of work and that it’s delighting our clients. We are increasingly recognising the overlapping discussions between these teams (as it’s the people who make up a programme which the client experiences as our product) and are finding more ways to work together.

- Deployment of resource: Work closely with stakeholders and the wider team to match client demands with the skills and capabilities of our workforce, finding solutions for resourcing conflicts, and ensuring best utilisation of individuals for both their development and business profitability
- Relationship building and stakeholder management: Hold respected and trusted relationships with the cluster leadership teams and other Head Office functions.
- Data-driven insights and reporting: Leverage data and provide insight to senior stakeholders on upcoming capacity, peaks and conflicts to shape debates with consulting and Head Office leaders which informs and drives the right business decisions.
- System accuracy and process adherence: Recognising the importance of accurate resourcing and delivery data and the consistent application of our processes in resourcing and delivery – support the persuade the business to uphold these standards.
- Understanding the nature of our work and our people: Understand our clients, propositions, employees, as well as our business strategy and aims. Apply this knowledge in the optimal way to build high performing teams to deliver meaningful impact through our multi-million-pound programmes
- Understanding individual programmes: Understand how individual programmes are performing and use this insight to inform how scheduling decisions are best made and support in the identification and escalation of risks.

- Be humble and self-aware – invests time and energy in seeking feedback, shaping their role and their personal development
