Based on your skills, experience and interests, we think you’d enjoy hearing about Dawn’s experiences at Newton. Dawn joined us after spending 10 years in the oil and gas industry.

“After the ‘Understanding’ (or ‘assessment’) phase of a programme, we don’t just hand over a report. We work closely with our clients to help them develop and adopt new ways of working so we can be sure that we’ve delivered the best possible outcomes.”

Principal Consultant

DAWN LOGAN IMPROVING OUTCOMES FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE

Right now, Dawn’s working with the Children’s Services team at a local authority. She’s working out how the team can adopt even better ways of working to deliver the highest levels of service to all the children and young people who rely on them. At Newton, you’ll work hand-in-hand with your clients to change organisations – and transform lives.

FOCUS ON DELIVERY

Delivery at Newton is about carrying out deep analysis of data and combining that with authentic insights from our clients’ people to ensure that we have an optimal understanding of what needs to change – and how we can best make that happen.

Dawn

“When it comes to delivery, having a blend of quantitative and qualitative insight is crucial. We get that blend by analysing countless lines of data and having rich conversations with people from across the client’s organisation.”

QUICKFIRE QUESTIONS

What particularly appealed to you about working for Newton?

Dawn

“When I was looking to move into consultancy, most firms couldn’t look beyond the fact that I’d spent most of the last 10 years working in oil and gas. Newton was different. Right from the first conversation, they told me they wanted me to enjoy a variety of experiences.”

– Dawn

And has that been your experience?

Dawn

“It’s definitely held true. I’ve worked with everyone from a high street retailer to a team on the factory floor to health and social care. It’s been an incredible journey so far. And I’m excited about what’s next.”

– Dawn

BALANCING WORK AND HOME

We pride ourselves on helping people at every level to get the most out of life with Newton, whilst also enabling them to live their lives to the full outside of work.

POWERING YOUR PROGRESSION

We take development very seriously. That’s why we don’t put our experienced hires under any pressure to work at a certain level when they first join us. Instead, the first year is all about getting people up to speed with the different skills they need to create positive change for our clients.

Dawn

“Even as an experienced hire, your first year here is all about development. You learn the Newton skillset so that you’re ready to go out and work with any organisation, and to see what opportunities there might be to do things differently.”

– Dawn

SUPPORTING CLIENTS SIDE BY SIDE

One of the biggest differences between Newton and other consultancies is our immersive way of working. We embed ourselves into our clients’ organisations to build a deep insight into what they do, and what they need to do in order to be even more successful.

Dawn

“We don’t just work with key stakeholders. We’ll bring in people from across the organisation to look at what’s happened in the past and determine what could have been done differently – to ask what could we change moving forward. It’s really important to have that broad involvement.”

– Dawn

EXPERIENCE LIFE ON CLIENT SITE

By spending time at our clients’ sites, we’re able to tap into the experiences of all sorts of people – the people who’ll need to adopt different approaches when the change is implemented. It’s invaluable experience that’s crucial when it comes to adding tangible value.

Dawn

“For the last few months, I’ve been working with the Children’s Services department at a local council. And that means spending time with the people who are delivering those services so I can get a true insight into what’s working, and what needs to change.”

– Dawn

SHARING EXPERIENCES WITH THE WHOLE COMPANY

Whatever your interests and passions, Newton offers plenty of opportunities for colleagues to work together and make an impact beyond their immediate client projects, whether that’s through knowledge sharing, all-company initiatives or advancing a cause that has a personal significance.

Review days

Our fortnightly review days are a brilliant opportunity not only for our people to connect with each other, but also to share ideas, bring fresh perspectives and collectively tackle the most complex challenges in an open, relaxed environment.

Inclusion and giving back

We have a number of employee resource groups designed to foster a diverse, inclusive working environment. There are also great opportunities to give back through the Newton Foundation – our people have been involved in everything from fundraising efforts for Alzheimer’s to mentoring students from underprivileged backgrounds to supporting programmes to tackle homelessness in the UK.
