Based on your skills, experience and interests, we think you’d enjoy hearing about Chloe’s experiences at Newton. She joined us from a global consultancy firm, where she started her career as an intern after graduating with a degree in Mathematics.

“The thing that makes Newton different is the lengths we go to in order to really get to grips with the nature of the behaviour change that’s needed. We look at how people are currently working, and what things they’ll need to do differently in the future to achieve the KPI – and we do that in a collaborative way with our clients.”

FOCUS ON DELIVERY

Even the most thorough programmes of organisational change can only truly be successful if the changes are embraced by the people who’ll be living and breathing them – the employees. In our People Centred Change team, we take the lead on delivering critical aspects of our programmes to ensure the widespread adoption of new ways of working.

Chloe

“For me, delivering behavioural change is all about making it as easy as possible for anyone in any organisation to change the way they work for the better.”

QUICKFIRE QUESTIONS

What attracted you to a career in consulting?

Chloe

“I studied maths at university and knew I wanted to learn more about how businesses across different industries and sectors work, so I joined a management consultancy as an intern. That turned into a career, and I realised I was most energised by the projects that were centred around delivering change – which drew me to Newton.”

– Chloe

What do you enjoy most about your role?

Chloe

“Everything I do is about understanding the people at the centre of an organisation – what are their motivations? What are their frustrations? I then look at their actions and decisions to see what could be done differently to drive improvements. It’s great to have that wide-reaching scope for impact.”

– Chloe

BALANCING WORK AND HOME

Having joined us in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Chloe has had a very different first six months than most of our new starters. However, she’s still been able to enjoy a good balance between working with her team, and getting together with them on a more social basis – all using virtual channels.

Chloe

“There is definitely flexibility. I’ve been working remotely over my first six months with Newton, and that’s been working well, especially because of the time that’s been carved out to catch up informally with the team.”

– Chloe

POWERING YOUR PROGRESSION

Chloe likes the fact that she’s not only empowered to influence the way her clients work, but that she also has scope to contribute to the growth and direction of the team. These are both things which she sees as central to her own personal and professional growth.

Chloe

“I was hugely attracted by the scope for progression – especially within the People Centred Change team. At the moment, it’s a relatively small but growing practice and that gives us the opportunity to shape the way we work with our clients. Your voice and ideas are heard, and that’s fantastic in terms of your development.”

– Chloe

SUPPORTING CLIENTS SIDE BY SIDE

Chloe works with consultants from across Newton, including those in our Operations and Digital teams, to get to the specifics of what needs to change. But delivering the right outcomes is also about collaborating with the client – in many ways, we become an extension of the client’s team.

Chloe

“Something that interested and intrigued me from the outset was the fact that Newton doesn’t just talk the talk, we actually stick around to make sure we deliver results for our clients. And that’s why it’s so important that we work hand-in-hand with them to affect real change.”

– Chloe

EXPERIENCE LIFE ON CLIENT SITE

Establishing robust and productive relationships with clients is vital. But for us, those relationships go beyond key stakeholders alone. We like to get to know people at all levels of an organisation because, if we understand their challenges, we can make addressing them a key part of our solution.

Chloe

“Even though I’ve been working remotely, I’ve still been able to build really strong connections with the people I work with – both clients and colleagues. I feel these relationships are just as good as they would have been if I’d been based in the office or on site.”

– Chloe

SHARING EXPERIENCES WITH THE WHOLE COMPANY

Whatever your interests and passions, Newton offers plenty of opportunities for colleagues to work together and make an impact beyond their immediate client projects, whether that’s through knowledge sharing, all-company initiatives or advancing a cause that has a personal significance.

Review days

Our fortnightly review days are a brilliant opportunity not only for our people to connect with each other, but also to share ideas, bring fresh perspectives and collectively tackle the most complex challenges in an open, relaxed environment.

Inclusion and giving back

We have a number of employee resource groups designed to foster a diverse, inclusive working environment. There are also great opportunities to give back through the Newton Foundation – our people have been involved in everything from fundraising efforts for Alzheimer’s to mentoring students from underprivileged backgrounds to supporting programmes to tackle homelessness in the UK.

Chloe

“As a team, we regularly meet up to share ideas or just have a catch-up. We also talk through the challenges we’re facing on our projects and come up with ways to tackle them together as a group. It’s great to have that culture and to be able to connect with so many other people who can help you move forward.”
